International Beard Power: Fear The Beard

The power of The Beard is recognised around the world, and nowhere more than in California.

The gentlemen at http://www.fearthebeard.org/ have a wonderful site dedicated to their support of NBA side The Golden State Warriors, as well as their love of the whole East Bay area. They've united their people behind The Beard, and after we contacted them to express our admiration, they were kind enough to post about us. So we'd also like to acknowledge our Bearded Brothers from across the Pacific. We've suggested the ABs play their local side from the University of California, but the NZRFU have yet to respond for some strange reason.
We appreciate their support, and their appreciation of The Beard.

Hey, stranger things have happened...

"The decade of the '50s saw the Bears compete against the New Zealand All Blacks, the Australia Wallabies and the Oxford-Cambridge combined team. Some believe that Coach Hudson's 1965 group -- whose 4-2-4 tour of Australia and New Zealand included a win over New Zealand University and an 8-8 draw with Queensland -- is one of the best Cal rugby teams ever assembled. Another strong candidate for best Cal side ever is the 1971 team, which went 6-3 on its six-week tour Down Under, including an 11-9 victory over Queensland University at Ballymore and a 12-8 win against ACT."

Not sure we'd be so competitive now, but thanks for the post and much beardidarity from that other, and oddly spelled, Oakland.
